The 2024 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award ceremony was held last weekend, recognizing 51 exceptional foreign contributors from 18 countries. François Amman, Co-Founder and Co-President of Aden Group, received the award for his significant contributions to Shanghai’s economy, society, and international relations.
This marks Aden Group’s second Magnolia Award; Founder and President Joachim Poylo was honored with the Magnolia award in 2017. These accolades underscore Aden’s valuable contributions to the Chinese market and its lasting impact over the years.
The Magnolia Awards, named after Shanghai’s city flower, represent the highest honors for foreign individuals who make significant contributions to the city’s development. Since 1989, 1,877 professionals across fields such as business, education, healthcare, and culture have received this recognition.
Since its founding in 1997, Aden Group has expanded from Shanghai to over 80 cities across China and has grown internationally. Under Mr. Amman’s leadership, the company has navigated challenges like economic transformation, climate change, and technological advancements. Aligning with Shanghai’s “Five Centers” initiative, Aden has launched innovative projects such as Aden Energies, the Akila data platform, and NXpark by Aden. These ventures focus on smart carbon management, clean energy, and intelligent industrial parks, helping clients and governments address critical issues and advance sustainable development.
For over 30 years, Mr. Amman has forged a strong connection with Shanghai, embracing its values of fairness, inclusivity, and responsibility. He has actively participated in Franco-Chinese diplomatic exchanges, business forums, and sustainability summits, supported partnerships with Shanghai universities, and promoted collaboration and a welcoming business environment.
“We are proud that Francois has received the Magnolia Silver Award from the Shanghai government,” said Joachim Poylo. “This honor reflects Aden’s commitment to Shanghai and China. We will continue to contribute to the city’s economic growth and social development.”
